Jaime Cantú is an Associate Professor, Assistant Department Chair for Assessments, and doctoral scholar in Bilingual Education and Curriculum. He holds advanced degrees in Biomedical Sciences and Biology, an MBA, and is currently completing a doctoral degree in Bilingual Education with an emphasis in STEM.
His work sits at the intersection of curriculum management, AI-mediated instruction, and linguistically sustaining pedagogy. He has designed and implemented artificial intelligence systems within Anatomy & Physiology courses to enhance student discourse, support bilingual learners, and strengthen conceptual understanding without lowering academic rigor. His research on AI and education has been accepted for presentation at international conferences and continues to inform innovative curriculum redesign models.
Drawing from Funds of Knowledge, Translanguaging theory, Universal Design for Learning, and Cognitive Load Theory, Jaime Cantú maintains standards as the instructional floor while expanding the ceiling of possibility for linguistically diverse and neurodiverse learners.
